With the 9" tubes, we made 934hp @ 5800 rpm, 906 ft/lbs @ 5000 rpm, and it made 728 ft/lbs @ 3500 rpm cresting 800 ft/lbs by 4000 rpm. All tests were conducted using 91 octane fuel straight from the gas station.

The engine liked 35º of ignition timing, it didn't like the cam advanced or retarded. I was very suprised at how aggressively it responded to ram tube length changes.

Anyways this engine is not going into a million dollar DCB nor a 50 ft Skater or a 2 million dollar MTI but in something 99 % mainstream boaters and OSO members relate to. The average guys. Had to throw that out there and making the story line continue for the average guys in boating . haha.

How high did you try the timing? I only ask because my motors on the dyno liked 41* with that head.. What did these heads flow after they got ported? Thanks

Went up to 37°, lost power. 36° makes the same as 35°. I'm betting that you had a dome piston and didn't have the chamber work I had. Heads we're flowing right at 420cfm @ .800, almost broke 400 cfm by .600". 2.35" valve. Speier Racing Heads did a good job with them, they didn't even go 400 out of the box.

Very impressive power No I didn't have chamber work but a flat top piston in my stuff.

If i recall from earlier in this thread, i thought you were running a 760 ish lift cam? What material seats did you guys end up going with in the heads? 45 deg seats? What kind of run time are you guys looking for between top end freshenings?
