I think we can start a new thread called "Boaters vs Mother Nature, Great Lakes Pound fest" . . . . i am sure every one of us on these waters has their harrowing tale :D . . . MT thats a cold sweat ride right there, watching things break and crack and give way little by little and you know you've still gotta get where your going . . . your committed weather you like it or not.

I have been on Erie since i was five years old in 1971, my first solo trip to Put in Bay i did at age 13 in a sixteen foot Lyman Islander with a 20 mile run from our cottage at Long Beach by Davis Besse, actually went to the small basin at the foot of the monument then did a lap of the entire island and then home took ALL day lol. I learned boat handling, reading weather and water and respect at a very early age, and what a great place to learn :cool:

the mistress is not a speed record breaker, but at 70-75 mph is very fun in bigger sloppy Lake Erie waters... if you have not been on one in them conditions then you simply have zero credibility chiming in saying it is not that good of a ride. I have taken many people out in slop that when were done they said holy chit that was a fun solid ride... is a PP better? Well I don't know yet since I have not been on one... I will see this summer as my good buddy bought Adams 33... at that point I will form opinion the only thing I said was the lift weight may add to the azz beating feeing, never said the boat can't do the job... my baja did the job and ride better then a lot of others as it was old heavy layup, but certainty didn't ride like any cigarette. I had a 7 boat raft up and cruise this past weekend, clearly not hated locally like you people wish or assume.

Why would there be a pound fest last weekend??Last weekend wasnt the deal. Memorial weekend was the deal. Junior didnt show. I tried tempting people into a reschedule, offered a date, even offered to pay for a helicopter to film it. No body was interested. Stick a fork in it, its done. its over. The date was announced months in advance, Plenty of time to prepare. The East Coast Kid never showed.

Apparently Nate was the only one that didnt get the memo. And before you think Im white knighting Tim, my money would have been on the Kid. Not because his boat was any better or any worse, but because he is a kid. I was that age before, I raced motorcycles etc... at that age as long as the sky is up and the ground is down, you go faster. Kids dont care about/worry about breaking sh!t, busting stringers and bulkheads, or going swimming, the only thing that matters is winning at all costs. Timmy is older, he thinks about having to fix stuff and making it to work monday to feed his family.

So I think the kid would have won, but Tim would have ended up towing the kid's broken resin bucket back to the ramp.

I am sure this beating a dead horse but Myself and many others you toss insults to left and right are not attacking you at all. That is why I ask or hope you are not like that in the real world.
