The particular section of water we are talking about isn't a "confused sea" it's a psycho ex with pms, drunk and pissed off, There are 2 footers from one direction 4 footers from another direction with 3 to 5 footers randomly intermixed with huge holes.

Actually what you described is a confused sea. Generally happens when the wind runs the compass but never actually knocks one direction down before shifting again.

Ya you are right but that is that section of water on our lake all the time. With the water depth all over the place the wind the. The fact that the islands are so close to mainland the water has no idea where to go.

Loto gets way rougher lol. Here's Icedppl and I , headed out to go put the boat back on the trailer. I didn't wanna go, but Dan's crew bailed on him, and couldn't let a brother fly solo. So I held on and off we went. Stomach dropped to my nutsack a few times, but it was all good. oh, and this was Noaa 2-4's maybe 3-5's. Here's a video from a boat ride 10-12 years ago on my old 40' Excalibur. Lake actually laid down by the time we got this video on the way home. Earlier that day, it was rougher. My buddys old Scarab 3 in the video, completely blew apart the cockpit interior, broke a bunch of stuff in the cabin, and put few stress cracks in the hull. It was too rough to even film with the old school camcorder during the day, as we were taking so much spray over the bow. We are talking Put In Bay here..the first drunken bachelorette party train begins at noon. If you miss it the next one comes by every 20 minutes.

Between all the shallow spots, markers and weird huge cement markers that area is kinda scary to navigate first time . Asking the locals where the shallow spots are everyone tells a different tale . Boating there, I was on edge thinking at anytime I`m going to run aground rip my drives off.
Lake Michigan , 10 yards off the shore you`re safe and you go anywhere you want without worry, not sure how that JetSki lake is that Phil boats on ..

That's how it is around here but in some spots you can be 1/2 mile off shore in the gulf and you will find yourself high and dry on a shallow sandbar that seems to come up out of no where.
