Another option.
I use a browser other than Netscape Navigator, or MS Internet Explorer. Goto www.opera.com and try downloading Opera. One of the things that you can select on the preferences, is the "refuse pop up windows". It works great. This browser has a ton of other great features. Ill never go back to one of the others.
Another advantage is security. MS products are known to have many security flaws, and since their use is so widespread, many hacking tools\techniques are based on them. Using a lesser known product can make you a bit more secure.
