I think your going to need at least 25 grand to get into a decent single engine CC.

That little Scarab 26 looks like a decent boat with a single

Go Yamaha or stay home.
I am truly amazed at what they sell ragged out chit for down here.

I know the budget is cheap, but it's that way for a reason. I'm about to sink everything I own and everything I don't own into a house. Trying to live out my dream of having my boat in the backyard. This is just the "hold me over" boat after the sticker shock of the house down payment. The good news is I have a killer tool box and there isn't anything I can't fix. Other than a soft floor/transom. Don't want to get into glass work

Where you looking to move to in Florida ? I have been a resident of Naples for 30 years.

If I could move right now I would go to St Petersburg.

2/3 rds the price of Naples / Fort Myers and much prettier water .

It has great boating, fishing and diving , which is not usually doable on the West Coast but great in this area with good visibility and many reefs near shore.
St pete is nice but my parents spent multiples of what you could get a place for in cape corral. I'm surprised it's that much cheaper than naples/ft myers.

The old scarabs are classic but I wouldn't touch one unless i knew someone had replaced the transom and stringers in a quality job. They seem to all rot.

If you want a real hot rod keep an eye out for a zero tolerance.

No comparing Cape Cardiac to St Pete.

#1 is water Quality, Clarity, no long run down the Mud River.

Downtown St Pete Rocks.

Great fishing reefs 5 miles offshore as opposed to 30 miles off Naples or Ft Myers

Great diving 10 miles off shore vs No Diving off Ft Myers / Naples. See Mud River above.
