I have a kayak ,but if I do paddle in a lake with powered boats I have the smarts to stay close to the shore. the only boats that I really worry about are bass-boats. It's almost like the car / motorcycle thing. people just don't look for you.

I too am a kayaker,, but I traditionaly kayak in the lakes that are unaccessable by powerboats, and if I am kayaking in Georgian Bay, I stick to the shore, so you can see the bikinis on the beaches!

The marina has a sign here saying "no dogs on boats" meaning rental boats. everyone who owns a boat thinks this means them. we print this off, post in restaurant, and when they order a hotdog with no bun and extra mayo (ooooh gross!!!!) they can read this sign and keep their kyaking arses off the water.

first time i got to take boat out w/ no parents, who wrecked it? a kyaker, had to pull him 1/2 across the lake because "his arms were tired" i should have asked if he wanted any cheese to go with that whine!
