Funny I looked at it and didn't think OL but now that you pointed it out it is very similar!

Remember when they painted the first F4 red/white (Scroll down) http://gulfcoastpowerboats.com/boat_...ion_43_f4.html

3 years later Cigarette brought out their first 39 TG open at the Ft Lauderdale show with the identical paint!
http://teamspeed.com/forums/performa...-gun-open.html

Crazy part is at the show Sunsation/Cig were across the dock from each other. Cig had the boat, Sunsation had pics of the first F4 in the same paint as advertising from years earlier!

As these manufacturers start sharing painters, shifting back and forth between artists you will certainly see a similarity in the designs. TAOD got stuck on lightning bolts/daggers for too long, Mitcher T loved ripped paint/3D water drops, one of the Cigarette painters got stuck on swirl/hurricane paint. In Formula's case they just got stuck in the design dept, everything was stripes for years, then a spiderweb idea got added, then a lightning bolt series.

I have been going to the NY Boat Show for the past 15 years. It has most definitely become a snooze fest for performance boats. The last few years the show has gotten bigger again with more boats but usually a Formula FasTech is the only performance boat there. So this will be nice to see and hopefully start to revitalize the show.

hahaha.....

I saw the post and honestly couldn't remember the paint scheme so I reclicked on Matt's article and boom there it was and you were right!

For the record, I never loved that paint design the F4/39 open shared. It was different but not my taste.

Agreed on the "scallop" style paint, It did neither boat justice.

That's so stupid! What kind of moron would match a boat to a car.

Think that's bad, I heard one guy was working on a Lamborghini-themed Generator.

If you are going to do a car themed boat.....you sir are the guru. I personally would've liked to have seen yours Lamborghini powered. But you have set the standard.

I get the partnerships between the companies and extra attention it would bring....who doesn't like a Lamborghini? But what got me with the article was the "Color matched". It was a white car and boat FFS! If it was Lamborghini yellow, green or orange ok mention its color matched....but white? Seriously!
