They were Goodwin motors in the 44 OL
I'm not jumping on any bandwagon to bash a company.
The owner switched to merc 1100's and re rigged at the factory and is very happy as far as I know...

I was referring to a completely different boat. 46 skater.

All the debate and blanket statements make them seem worse than issues likely are. More details would nice. No shame in Goodwin coming out and stating the issues they're working on.

I know we bash merc a lot, but they do real validation and this is when it shows.

There may be a bunch of that going on, but everything I've posted is true. And I've spent a lot of time and money getting boats that I've Rigged with my own two hands to go fast.

The one set of Goodwin engines I'm talking about, were ridiculously expensive, and didn't run for ****.

Can you please let us know what the issues were so that we have the correct info? Or if there were not any issues with the engines let us know so this can all be cleared up.

Yes, I've raced hydroplanes in the national modified class, a boat I tuned and drove. Chris Mills and I built with our own hands a bare 48 skater vee bottom that ran better than any vee bottom to come out of the factory, we built and ran the very first pleasure mystic... and it ran great. Every boat I've owned, comes out of my ownership faster than when I bought it.

You don't know me. So know what your saying before you open your mouth. Aren't you the one *****ing about people talking about things they don't know.

Bill Vogels Goodwin engines in Gotcha didn't run for ****.
