now we are heading in the right direction.it would be nice if someone would post what issues these engines are having.i have my own idea of what may be happening but i have no facts,i hope someone ,maybe the owner of these engines will step up with facts.

To my knowledge only two sets have been out there for an extended period. One has been swapped for Merc and one seems to be at plenty of events so it's not exactly a large sample size.

Yup, the set that got swapped for mercs ran about as long as a fat kid in lead shoes... lets just say the owner wasn't very excited about that deal....

Actually, if memory serves those engines in the Outerlimits were one-offs built by an outfit called RaceCrafters.

I remember them being quite a bit different then the ones in P.P if I recall correct.

While I've interviewed Todd Goodwin a few times I really don't know much about the engines in the Pure Platinum Skater series beyond this, https://speedonthewater.com/new-boat...s-in-the-works, and this is a pretty old story (April 2016) that came out of the first project. I wrote an article on the RaceCrafter engines for Powerboat magazine's Power & Propulsion column, but for the life of me I cannot remember anything about them (other than that they reportedly made massive power). So I couldn't draw any sort of accurate fact-based comparison.

Just to be clear ... the RaceCrafter engines were in the OL that didn't run during the kilo runs hosted by Fountain—the one where Fountain claimed the record. Don't want anyone to be confused.
