Of course, if you're gonna go big, you'll need one (or more) of these little jewels:

I don't remember who makes it, but there's one gas engine out there that has an electric "get home" motor as a back-up in case you run out of fuel. That's what you need insted of swimming of paddling after it.

I saw a 84" Cigarette on Ebay last year. It was set up for twin Homelites and twin jet drives.
the boat was unfinished and the price was way up there but it as pretty cool.

Someone mentioned an Apache (48") in an earlier thread. I found a shop in an add in R/C modeler, I think the place was in Florida and they had allot of hop up stuff for the Homelites. I don't remember the name though

Iggy - you might be thinking of the Traxxas Nitro Vee, I know that boat has the backup electric motor. That boat's a nitro engine though, not a homie. I've got a couple 1/8 scale nitro cars, and they are a ton of fun, but I would go with the homie in a boat.
The nitro costs around 20-25 a gallon, and the engines are kind of finicky.
For those of you who have "Weedwacker" boats, does anyone run them in salt? That's all I have around me, and I wasn't sure how the boats handled it.

Holy crap batman! Now I know for sure what I'm going to ask Santa for this year!

I run mine in salt all the time. I just shoot in down withe a little WD-40 and wipe it off. Mine is about 5 years old and Ive only replaced the servos in the boat once. Also put a few drops of oil in the cylinder before puting it away. It usually stuffs several time everytime it goes out.
If I had known this thread was going to take off like it did I would have dug through my files last night. There is one called the Patriot, i think its made by Blew By You R/C it has some really nice lines. That will be my next project boat if do another.

mini #6 drive

Gotta love those little conley v-8s i've been drooling over those since the early 90's. they also have the viper v-10 now. C-spray do you have any info on those mini #6's I remember them being advertised in boat modeler some years back any info on them would be great (if there still making them). I'd like to pick up a pair.

Thanks
Ken
