Somewhere between 2-3K, I've lost track. I did not buy it turn key. I bought the hull rigged with the exhaust, outdrives and props, and I bought everything else to complete it seperately. And then I hid all the receipts from my wife. ;)
The exhaust seems to be adequate.
It should be able to do about 35mph. I don't quite have the motors broke in yet, and I'm still jetting and tuning. I need to take a day off from work and put some hours on it. I think I'll need to upgrade to some big bore carbs and a set of 3 blade props to get some real speed out of it.

The #6 model drive that I posted is made by MHZ-Modelbau of Germany . If you click on the "Produkte" tab, it will show you the good stuff. Drives are listed under "Antriebe" and are very, very impressive - miniature Pulse Drives, #6 drives, TriMax/Arnesons, jet drives, and even one that looks like a single-prop version of a BlackHawk!

I don't know where BajaDave got his cable-drive #6's, but they look even more realistic from above water, and may be more durable (simpler).

Good sites are:
RumRunners for fast electric (low-aggravation) stuff.
Precision in Perfection for awesome large-scale cats, Apaches, Super Hawaii's, and Arneson drives.
Aeromarine Laminates for US-style offshore boats and hardware.
Graupner for BatBoats, Phantoms, SuperHawaiis and others, all imported by Hobby-Lobby . (Both sites are kind of hard to find the boat stuff in - be persistent, and check "New Items" in the Graupner site.)
Jim's R/C Boating page has tons of links - you can get lost for hours there.

Remember - Christmas is coming, and you'll need soemthing to do while it's cold out....:D

On props, i have tried 2 3 and 4 blade props, diff picth, diameter, probably 250$ in different props and learned that the 2 blade will work the best.

Another great source for info on big scale offshore R/C boats is Chris Fine at Fine Design R/C . Very helpful, and willing to spend a little time on the phone discussing what you want to do.
