Interesting timing as well with Merc stopping production of the 700.

Not to mention the Hellcat engine is a tune/pulley away from 800+

Why is it SO difficult to marinize car motors?

Jeff Cheng (founder of OSO) had a b!tch of a time getting a set of chevy crate 572's to run right in his Gladiator. I believe he finally gave up it was such a nightmare.

This motor would be bad azz in a boat though.

Exhaust. Period. When a simple Chevy exhaust system is well into the thousands Mopar and even Ford can be up to twice that. And that is if you don't have to have it custom made. You get rid of the insane exhaust costs in the marine world and you would see about anything that some back yarder could shove in a hull.

Because they have to be water jacketed? How much we talking to custom make exhaust? I mean, if you're spending 20k on the motor, how much more to get the exhaust made?

Probably 10k per engine or more.

That's what I was thinking. Awesome engine package but I doubt it would last under the high RPM/loads of a boat. Would be fun while it lasted!
