15 years this month I have been here and it's the best thing I ever found on the internet. Of the 10 people I would say are my closest friends I met 8 of them here. And that percentage carries out to larger numbers for sure.

I have to agree with both of these posts whole hardheartedly. Some of my BEST friends have come from OSO; and the local boat community which are also OSO members and the like.

Too add, I've been fortunate enough to make friends across this great country due to OSO; and have boating and crash-pad options all year long when schedules line up. I think many of us can say the same.

This is a community of many, a internet forum that's impacted by the real world events. People live, die, move, change jobs, hired/fired, change hobbies, get married or divorced, get angry at a neighbor etc.. Anyone of these can change a person and what they do for fun.

Now I'm an annoying kid with a job.

I think some of the best guys in our hobby/lifestyle are on this forum. I'll never leave, despite the random negativity.
The real idiots seem to have a way of getting weeded out.
Chris Bingham: I bought his 16' Donzi and ran it 28 years and then sold it back to his dad. It went back in better shape then when I bought it. Dad Dave lives up the lake less than a mile. This is a small, small world.

I always wondered what happened to Waterfoul & Travis. Those were from the really old days. Some of the pre-membership charter members that used to post a lot.
