I don't know Chaparral well but that boat appears to be anti fouled. (Bottom paint) Antifoul will take away a few mph in top end speed and also effect resale value on a high performance boat. Avoid keeping a sterndrive boat in the water if at all possible, corrosion issues can be awful. Unless you're going to keep your boat in the water, I'd encourage you to look for something that's never been antifouled. It can be removed but depending on how it was prepared and applied, it's a very big job.

Thanks for the input. Thats the stock black hull. You or anyone have experiance with the 26cat from shockwave?

Ok then, you can pretty much disregard my post.

I wasn't sure looking at the pics, the way the black hull seems to run through the bottom of the first "S".

I’d still look at 41 apaches. For 85 you can probably find one with small power. You’ll pull more skanks with a 41 Apache than any other boat just add a 30’ bow rider seating area for the skanks to tan in and don’t forget the stripper pole. Just my .02
