I also thought it was weak, the single exhaust and prop twin engine boat was funny, same with the rough water ride... I have better rough water videos...

I get it's a movie but they could have made it more realistic, not like the first Jaws movie, the effects SUCKED... this is 2018!! In jaws the shark looked more real then the rough water scene.

The story line sucked too, hard to understand, if you did not know the story like we all do, you would be 100% lost..

I expected it to be decent having John Travolta star in it, Napoleon dynomite had better success, I will say he made a good Don.

Rented it through Xfinity last night. Never a good sign, that, being able to rent a movie at home on its release date.

Got through 10 dreadful minutes before turning it off. Figured those were 10 minutes of my life I couldn't get back and decided to cut my losses.

Awful.

But I did enjoy the brief John Tomlinson cameo early in the movie.

So other than the bad effects, music, acting and inaccuracies how was it?

They also gave away the ending in the first 5 minutes. So, yeah.

If you want to see authentic old offshore boats click on "Classic Offshore" just below "General Discussion" or watch a documentary. Movies are made for the masses not purist.

Words cannot explain how bad this movie is, in every way, and forget the subject matter, it's unwatchable even for those who are clueless about the actuall story. And Travolta, OMG... I guess he's following in Nicolas Cage's path.
I would think that this story, drugs, gangsters, fast boats and faster women, would offer decent potential, even outside the offshore community.
Maybe one of the "indie" movie people can start a GoFundMe fundraiser and give it a shot.

This is a great movie. Great boat scenes, good action, etc.... the detail police will pick anything apart, but this movie, to me, as a dude who grew up on cigarettes with his old man, is good in my book.

my only wish is they used the real names. I need a “legend” for names used in movie vs. name in real life,

Watched it tonight. Very little boat footage for a movie about a powerboat builder. The boats they show are not exciting at all. The race scene was pathetic.

So what’s the consensus...save my $10. Better off using it as toilet paper?
