It’s like therapy!

If you’ve got a 1/2 hr of free time, you can find something to improve.

2200 lbs and a 100hp?
The car is within (from the factory) 2 lbs of having dead nuts, equally front/rear weight bias!
The Brits knew what they were doing.

W/my TA you needed slicks and a road course to drive it at 8/10’s.

W/this thing, I can drive it at 10/10’s at 45 mph in a 4 wheel drift in the country roads by my house!

I am shopping for a donor motor to build.
Figure I can get 140-ish out of it.

Already done: (in prep for the next motor)

header + full stainless exhaust

ram air/velocity stacks

ported intake

alum radiatior

electric fan

electronic ignition

tires/rims

good plug wires

stripped the emissions

Have dropped probably 50 lbs as well

We Yanks have made fun of these cars forever but its actually a well designed, engineered and built car!

Everyone hates their SU carbs but once you figure them out, they’re brilliant!

Bonus points for being the most fun, easiest car to work on that I’ve ever owned!

And for bonus points, parts are easy to find and cheap!
Awesome! That's how I like to do it too, get it ready for the power first. Set it up then throw the power at it

Last yr before the bumper car bumpers.

US built cars may/probably got them first.

Going back to Middle Bass this weekend.
We both love that place.

Probably mentioned it already but, JF walleyes, on the island, may be the coolest bar in the world!

Look it up if you haven’t heard of it.

Work is slowing down enough that I’m only working a couple days a week so have more Gary time to dedicate to the bosses projects and sneak out in the barn to work on mine :-)

leaving tomorrow afternoon for a long weekend on the boat.

Had some things to attend to and it is now becoming so much fun to have projects that take minutes instead of weeks!

Hopefully get some time to do the final tune on motors at idle to cut smoke by 80%.
The carbs on them are really really good carburetors and can tune them to be virtually smoke free at idle.

Not bad for a couple old junkyard two strokes :-)

And for once the weather forecast is gorgeous for all weekend!

But it is Ohio, and it is Lake Erie, and as my buddy tells me all I’ve gotta do to make that lake rough is show up with my boat!

Still haven’t had a chance to do any prop testing or light it up at all since initial set up.

Had a plan for our last trip to that island to sneak out with my buddy but the group voted that a golf cart rental for the day was more important.

Vote was two to two w/the wives having veto/tie breaking authority!

Hey Gary, I am back in Ohio for a week. I will be up in Sandusky Friday. I was planning on pretty much only hitting Kelley’s this weekend but who knows. If water is good I will try tracking you down..

Bring it!

We are going to West Harbor for the night Thursday, rib eyes at Crows Nest, after dinner cocktails at Crabby Joes…., then stagger back to the boat at Anchors Aweigh.

If you haven’t been, it is the **** that killed Elvis!

Might have to burn a seagar with you if you make it.

That dinner sounds delicious… I will be missing out on that. Are planning to be at middle bass by Friday afternoon?

Yep

Breakfast at Anchors Aweigh and then towards Middle Bass.

Plan is to spend the day exploring it and North Bass, by boat.
Havent seen/done much of that area and that is totally unacceptable to me.

If your going to be at Kelley’s, we should hook up.

I think you have my #.
Let me know your plans and see if we can make it work.

Most certainly be docked at Middle by mid afternoon but if it’s as nice as they’re saying…., who knows.

Maybe meet at West Bay on Kelley’s that afternoon??

Think it’ll float?

If you look at the bottom of the sun lounge you can see where the hood scoop used to be!

Now it’s a garage!

2 bikes
2 chairs
1 table
4 bumpers
shore power cord
anchor, w/chain and a 100’ of rode
2 rain suits
hose to fill the water tank
tool box
collapsible bucket

I thought about weighing it, I did dry.
Not sure I want to know!

Guess if it starts blowing trailer tires…..
