Me personally, I'd give up the rear facing seats and throw in 2 staggered 860's and we'll have our ZR back, on steriods with that 9'8" beam! Can't wait to see one of these and read about the numbers they're putting down.

Without a pad or notch, if that's true, I'm thinking mid-60's tops.
My suggestion of I/O's was mere fantasy, doesn't appear to be in the cards. I'll keep my fingers crossed, as long as the brand is alive. |

Looking at the cockpit design, I don't think Donzi are trying for speed records. With the near 10' beam and no bolster seating, just loungers, I'd say they're aiming more at the aforementioned Nor-Tech boats than say the 100mph Outerlimits outboard. My understanding of the notch design is to provide clean water to the props and also allow for higher x-dimensions. If the outboards are set back slightly like on a small bracket (hard to know from the images) then that would create a sort of 'notch effect'. The sharper Vee should help ride in rough conditions but maybe cost a couple of mph over a pad bottom. Maybe they're targeting a more family style boater, practicality with outboards, and a cockpit designed for comfort. Perhaps all the talk about pricing and maintenance on high performance racing engines is making manufacturers think about the future direction of the market. How many times have people posted on here suggesting the high performance market is on life support? Will be very interesting to hear about the $$$ on this boat....... Just my 2 cents but I love the look of the boat. I'd happily sacrifice 10-20 mph off the top end for that cockpit and the simplicity of outboards. RR |
Meh Outboards.

The ICONIC group is doing some very cool things. Looking forward to seeing this boat on the water. They are doing a great job with the new Fountain 32 cat, and 38 CC hopefully this will be another home run

As the website states, they’re calling this one a Grand Touring boat which immediately shouts that comfort and luxury will take precedent over speed. As was mentioned before this should be a great boat for folks willing to take the hit on top end speed for a semi-fast luxury cruiser. If I had the funds I’d be all over something like this. |

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6e522d8734.jpg Well the Donzi GT was a no-show at the Cumberland Thunder Run. The only Donzi at the Iconic Marine display was this Illegally parked Comp who's passengers were seeking some shade from the brutal sun on Friday as they checked out the hardware :D |
