Just a plug for Boot. I have done business with him in the past and he is a 100% stand up guy. No games, good products and great service. I'll do business with him any day.

You will find all of the info you will ever need. Might as well get some more HP out of it while you are at it!

I have never had a pump problem but I did have an issue with the computer on the side of the pump. Replaced under the extended warranty. Maybe I am just lucky?

Default 6-5

i just sold my 96 3500 gmc 6-5 truck just for this reason, pulling the race car trailer at about 13500-14000 it would get 8 mpg. it pulled it ok but slowed down on hills prety bad ,with the hustler it got 8.5-9 mph. with the injector pump timming over 100 it would run 220 dregres pulling and blow black smoke, just to get it to pull. but had to turn up . it had 3 pumps put on it , the last thing was it would just cut off ,it was the driver pump brain thats on the side of the pump. was still under warrenty thank god. a friend just replaced his pump ,someone here rebuilds them for all the dealers in this area, he paid 700.oo exchange, he did it him self just marked the p[ump were u set the pump timming/he said ,prob still have to take to a dealer to set the injector pump timming ? .even when the truck was 1 year old they put a rebuilt pump on it . my bud a chevy said the dont even list a part # for it.there is day and night in the power of the new duro max and the 6.5 and the ride is a lot better.but there was 15.000 list price diff. from the 96 compaired to the 2003 that i just bought.. the 6.5 engine was chevys down fall.

now i here the new duro max s are haven prob with the injectors o rings faleing filling the motor with fuel!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey sunsation , I got the scoop on the pump. Finaly !

What color tag is on it ? IF it is blue ,you can do an exchange .
IF it is anyother color ( red, black etc. ) It is a problem pump and must be highly modified . GM had MANY probelms with these and has done a lot of changes . If it's blue ,your in ! I need the model # off it also . There are several . IF you still need one ,I will get it to you at cost for the love of OSO and me being so damn slow !! THey tell me you can time it your self if you are able . I will get the details from the shop guy tomorrow . MAke sure you mark the pump when you take it off !!! So the new one goes back on the same way . They tell me The exchange pump is between $700- and $875 dealer . Hope this helps . JOE
