If money were no object the 48 Fountain Supercruiser or even a used 65 (dont make anymore) would be a good option, when it got to rough you could easily live on the boat and cruise at 60mph.
But the Rough Rider would be a good choice too or maybe a 46 skater but thats a different thread.

Cigarette hands down.....come on here......on agood 4-6 day TG, Tiger, or RoughRider all the way....but you can always step up to the elite bunch who run MTI, Skater, Apache, & Outerlimits......

Uh...40-46 Skater. If it's behind me, outrun it. If it's coming towards me, turn and go back, outrun it the other way. LOL!

The great thing about OS go-fast boats. We just did this on our last trip for the season. We saw the dark sky (after having dinner in town and not realizing the rain was coming in that quickly). Got out to the lake, uh oh, we better boogie. We outran it (all 5 boats). Well, till we got in the 20-30 minute no wake in our stupid stupid river. Got wet at the launch ramp.

So, anything you have that goes 50-55+ works for that!

Default Cigarette

I would put my life behind the Cigarette. I remember one day my old boss was on his 42' fountain running with a 45 Sonic and they lost a motor. Well, waves were crashing over the back of the boat, and over the sides into the cockpit. They thought they were going to die. Well suffice it to say, the Sonic had no problem. My opinion, higher freeboard saved him!!

go with the Cig and be safe.

Bring that bad boy down here for the fest and see for yourself.
On to the other question...I would rather have a 41 Apache in the roughest of stuff here in Chicago.

Good stuff guys!
Keepin' it lively.

I agree completely...I would expect the general consensus to be with the largest Freeboard...That's what makes a great Offshore boat in my opinion.
