Not 2 I/O's, but I went from a single 525efi to twin 300 Verados, similar size and weight boat. The twin Verados burn slightly more fuel than the 525efi. The single engine boat was 10 MPH faster too.

My thoughts here also. 40 bucks? Use that much mixing up the stabilizer for winter storage.
Average day, just go for a boat ride, 200 - 300 bucks. Have burned in excess of a grand in one day first year I owned this boat. Admit it was a non stop all day run all over gods creation just cause I could, and fuel prices were a tad higher than today.

Ski boat pulling skiers a good part of the day, 25-30 gallons. 30 Scarab with twin BBCs, moderate day, 50-60 gallons, but that's straight line shots from one spot to the other. Now, I always thought "miles per gallon" wasn't that bad, because if I went from one end of our lake to the dam, cruising at the most efficient speed for each, mileages given would be about the same, 30 for the single, 50 for the twin. But I get there a whole bunch faster with a much better ride!
