Love the Looks and the Lines of the old classics. Just have a hard time buying into powering a 24 degree bottom cruiser through the water after building Custom Carolina Sportfishers in the Outerbanks.Cool project |
The foldable seats are on a board that goes up on hydraulics, underneath is a 6 foot long wide BBQ area with a 12x12 sink https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...71f038792.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...ae59afd50.jpeg |

Eff that. This mag will ride like a caddy, fuel economy be damned. And it won’t fall apart. |

I think those work because of the cold molded wood construction. A maintenance nightmare and they seem to have a finite life if you look at the depreciation. The large cut out is for a bench ~6 foot bench seat that faces the forward facing seat at the end of the sunbed https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dee7a49e2.jpeg Grill is also on hydraulics |
This weekend we Re-primed the edges and planes on the hardtop that we had straighted out last week, and started the final hand block sanding of these with 220 after spraying with blue pigment to find waves on the material. . Should be done with the hard top 220 sanding by tomorrow afternoon. Will go over with blue pigment again and 320 the following day.
Additionally, we Sanded the primer on the inside of the air intakes on the top deck We also fabricated and faired a new piece that will sit vertically behind the helm seats to hide some of the exposed seat mechanisms. Will have to also make and polish four small plates to hold this piece in place. Lastly we hollowed out the foam around the door locks on the hardtop rear hatch. This hatch will only be used to remove the “ragtop” when the fabric or poles needs to be replaced Should get a gallon of pure white(no additional pigment) from Jon at quantum paints. I have been experimenting with white pearl flakes on awlgrip Snow White and looks pretty cool, should get better results over a pure white. I really like the color scheme on my brothers Honda Africa but haven’t figured out how I would translate that to the boat design whise |
