November 1996, Key West, outside leg, I was driving the 30 Shadow PENNZOIL. We had passed KAMIKAZE on the outside leg on the last lap. We were heading to the finish and all I remember is this BLUE WALL OF CONCRETE coming straight at me. I remember thinking "here it comes, OH F&*%!" I stayed in the boat as did Nicky and we were able to limp it back to the harbor/crane. What really sucked is we were racing for the lead and WAY ahead of Charlie Haimes in his RESTORE a 35 Motion in third and it turned out that KAMIKAZE had ILLEGAL MOTORS! Oh well.
For the next 3 nights the RESTORE guys kept singing to us...
"WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW SUBMARINE, YELLOW SUBMARINE, YELLOW SUBMARINE!"

One other idea timucin. Get a Spare Air for you and your co-pilot. They are a small oxygen cylinder with a regulator that will give you about 3 minutes. Real handy if the main air system rips out of the hull.
