And he already owns a boat just like you described. Why do another?

I realize this guy has more money than god but it seems like a waste of money when he could have just waited a few more months and got the motors he wanted. Surely the owner and Cig new the 450's were coming and the boat was built for 450's... Even rich guys don't like to through away that much cash. Anyone know how that worked?
It's fairly simple - the Cig debued in Miami and the 450 came much later... Boat shows are all oubout getting touchy-feeling with the new models because that is what sells them - you cannot show up with a boat that can't be run at one of the largest shows in the world.
Fast forward to the release of the 450 - real easy for a prospect to say get them when several Mil on the line on a sale. Congrats to the owner - latest and greatest Cig with the latest and greatest O/Bs in his stable. From Cig's business POV, it has to be good to have their biggest boat out there with the biggest possible engine package - now the specs are in black and white

not sure I’m following what your saying but that boat was already sold when it was at the show...furthermore cig and the new owner likely knew 450’s were on the horizon. I’m guessing the owner paid the difference or cig brokered a deal to put the 400’s on other boats. My 0.02

I agree with you. If I had that Cash I'd have 1350's because for me the maintenance is the draw to OB's and if you can afford that boat you can afford any big block maintenance required.....

Those outboards make an awesome statement of power. The biggest and the best. That said, I don't think 6 of them across the back look beautiful. Money is obviously not the biggest concern but if it were me, I'd ask about diesels and surface drives. Less service (down time) a big sun lounge and I doubt there'd be many 60 footers that could outrun you in any conditions.

My 2 cents worth, which is about what I have to spend at the moment.

I’ve seen the navy with red bootstripe 47’ intrepid with 4 sevens and thought it had one of the best integrated looks of OBs I’ve ever seen.

Mods can delete this thread or remove original text to be nicer. Wasn’t having the best day as my pops rear ended someone while taking my Marlago to the shop to get the GD driveshaft cut so the lower will drop ($$$).
