When I was restoring my Comp 6 years ago I shelled out like $5k for new 1/4 Canopies. They sat in a crate never opened for 2+ years while the boat was being re-rigged and painted. When I finally get the boat back the newly-installed canopies had a massive amount of distortion in them - like looking through a fun house mirror. Call the manufacturer and they are like, well your rigger must have polished them or something to cause that. My rigger is like, we've been rigging HPs boat our entire lives. We didn't do a dam thing to them but take off the protective plastic.

Long story short, I can't say a word because the Canopies had been shipped so long ago. I bought new ones from a different manufacturer at half the price and they are awesome. I ate the $5k and the cost of install as an expensive boating lesson and moved on.

You have no beef with the seller now. Move on.

I don't think you got screwed if you got one season out of used props. If their not slowing down the boat or causing any problems while underway why not keep using them until something gives?
