For those who gave compliments, Thanks. We under propped on purpose all week to learn the boat, not sure how that's embarrassing. We had one hour in the boat before KW and didn't want to F-up. We didn't spin out, roll the boat or break. We finished every race. To us that was a success. It's the toughest class to step into in all offshore racing with all the big name veterans in it. For the nay sayers, if you think it was so embarrassing why don't you get one and join the class and see how you do on your first time out in KW. Everyone in our class was impressed with our performance. We passed a boat on wednesday and sunday thats been racing all season.

I talked to several people that were at the races, and they all said that OL boat was so far behind it was embarrassing. No one goes RACING and takes it that easy or to look that bad. with all that said- there was another brand new team with a driver that has never raced before. The Dependable Skater. That boat was FAST!! Ran up with the leaders for the 2 days it raced. Ya it had some issues but it proved it had speed!! A 388 has been a dominate boat in that class for years and Mark Kowalski is no stranger to the class by no means. Better do some homework. This wasnt their first race. |
Vinny,
The boat is absolutely beautiful ! You guys looked like a class act. Too bad there wasn't a trophy for best Hauler, that thing is beyond Bada$$. I spent more time checking it out friday night than any of the boats... Best of luck. Jeff |
I would take anything he has to say with a grain of salt. Guy has something negative to say in nearly every outerlimits thread. |
Zero embarrassing about what you guys did, that is just an amateur comment.
Congrats to you guys and can wait for the 2020 season when you guys will be out there really mixing it up. |
Like I said- I wasn’t there, I was relaying what other people said. |

The OL really wasn’t too far behind on Sunday. It looked much better than on Friday, I wasn’t there weds. I’ve been driving fasts boats for quite a while, but every time I see these super cats race I respect the chit out of them. They are on it from start to finish and to jump straight into that class takes big balls. Also, that hauler is amazing |
For a rookie Supercat-class team, finishing fourth overall—in a new boat with borrowed power—in offshore racing's most competitive segment (my opinion) out of eight boats isn't a poor performance. Actually, it's a good one. The team has much to be proud of.
There was nothing embarrassing about SV Racing's showing in Key West. Nothing. And I wouldn't slam MTI too hard, Precision, as MTIs took first place in two out of the three races there last week. Dependable looks to be a rocket and Mark Kowalski is one hell of a throttleman, but the team had one DNS and two DNFs in three races. Running up front for a bit is impressive and cool, but so is finishing a race. But I give that new Dependable Marine team the same credit I give the SV Racing team. They worked their butts off to compete. Even the most casual fans of the sport know the track record of the Skater 388 on the racecourse. But that does not mean everything else sucks. That's just silly. Final standings from the Race World Offshore website, https://raceworldoffshore.com/results/. |
