Auto pilot wouldnt have hit the rocks, would it? When we run autopilot in my buddys Invincible it is incredibly accurate.
Depends on how he set it up. If he had it just on heading lock, it would just hold the boat straight, until the operator took control. If he made his own route to follow, he may have made it right through the jetty. If he had auto route, I would think it would have routed around this, but it is not 100%. Anytime I use auto route, I check it to make sure. Either way, if you don't pay attention during auto pilot, you are at risk of hitting something/ someone. |

I hate to hijack this thread, but anytime I use auto route on my Garmin - it takes me across land. Is that normal?? Granted, I've never opened the book/manual, but it's not very intuitive.
