The 38 AVS is a GREAT hull... no surprises and a very nice ride. I may be a little biased, but I'd certainly check one out if you've never been on one. That 700 boat is really cool... save a few bucks for fuel and still run 80 with this one (full disclosure, it's mine). :D

I keep looking at this boat but I absolutely know nothing about scarabs. It is a ton of boat and serious hardware for the money.

The bare cabin is the downfall for us, especially with a 7 yr old daughter. I do know that Tiger as its local to me. Great boat and priced right for sure.

Haha - you're not ruining my cereal. I agree - you can go to cig, build a million dollar boat and not have a sink or toilet. It's uncanny (pun intended). It's all about how you use the boat. I used to be hard core about a useable cabin but have found having a place to sleep is all we really use it for in our store of boating.

I think my second V choice would be Nor-Tech. I like the looks and everyone seems to love them and the cabins look like the check your boxes.....

Drock78 01-22-2020 08:45 PM

I'd love to have a Cig later on but for now, with a 7yr old daughter, an enclosed head, ac and room to sleep 3 is essential since we stay on it most weekends.

ICDEDPPL 01-22-2020 10:02 PM

My cig has AC, TV, etc and sleeps 5-6 , no problem. Room for miles

Which one...there's 4 listed.

I think this might be the good looking one...."Italian Ice"

https://www.offshoreonly.com/classif...nt-o76959.html

Doesn't sound overly expensive (IMO) but would need bigger power to compare with any of the other boats mentioned on this thread.

RR

Drock78 01-24-2020 09:54 AM

And the name on the side would need covered.

ttuton 01-24-2020 10:56 AM

Seems like this would check all the boxes.

I owned that boat and sold it to Frank in 2009. I still keep in touch with him about the boat, he took it to a new level with updates. Truly clean freshwater boat. The paint is really cool from Mitchell T and looks wet as well as has depth to it. I’ve kicked my self for selling it as a few years later I ended up with another 43 Black Thunder. We love the room for the family and overnight stays. The ride is always good as well

vheim 02-01-2020 06:55 AM

Go get it Derek. We all know you are sticking with an AT.

Drock78 02-01-2020 09:05 AM

Flying out east AGAIN to look at one next Sunday. Mike told me he was going to relist it but already set up to look at a different one that is mint and 100% freshwater. We'll see...

302Sport 02-01-2020 09:30 AM

I think in the price range you posted originally, a 37 AT is the boat to buy and you would be hard pressed to beat it.

lightspeed 02-01-2020 10:50 AM

I know u said PQ was on the bottom of your list but my buddy has one a 2001 38 avenger
with 575s that is super mint runs a little over 100 u can probably get it for 70k

Drock78 02-01-2020 11:04 AM

Vheim is shopping for a PQ of that era I believe..

frickstyle 02-01-2020 11:08 AM

yes he is.

vheim 02-01-2020 12:43 PM

Is it the all white one with a windscreen down in Florida? If so, I've already talked to the owner.

boatfreak 02-01-2020 02:11 PM

At the risk of derailing this thread I have to ask about the speed claim on the PQ.

Maybe its a typo..........thats a huge # for that power and a big heavy boat

Drock78 02-01-2020 02:59 PM

I have to agree. It would need 700 a side atleast to run over 100.

ToMorrow44 02-01-2020 05:53 PM

Gonna need more than 700 a side to run 100. Ran 82 with 575s
