LOTO boating..
#192
Like Helmhurst said... There is 30k+ Boats registered to LOTO and they are kept of their docks/lifts for the most part. SO a dock is much like a persons garage for home. Meaning, covered for protection of boat and for some, entertaining extension of the home.
If you have never been to LOTO it is a very uncommon boating lake. It is basically 100 miles long but over 1500 miles of frontage. Completely developed with homes/cabins and condos throughout the lake areas. Also 200+ resorts, bars and restaurants. Basically once you get here as a visitor and put the boat in, you can boat to whatever you want for entertainment until you leave. If you are looking for quite and surreal, we are not the lake. It can be rough, loud and FULL of type A personalities. That being said... We have everything from the Mover and Shakers of the world to banjo playing hillbillies, depending on what area of the lake your in. Like I said, it is uncommon!
Problem is, once you have seen our lake, it makes you not want to leave. It was that way for us.

I had a place on Table Rock for 12+ years, we had a saying to those folks who swarmed to the lake on the long holiday weeks, ( ITs good to see you and good to see you go ).......

Meanwhile in Illinois all boating is prohibited till further notice , and now 3 months after the start of this sniffle virus we`re required to wear masks ...like putting on a condom after your chick is pregnant ...gotta love them liberals.

^^^ Last weekend I swear I caught the worlds smallest bluegill ( still trying to figure out how he got hooked). My 7 yo daughter was catching crappie, a couple bass and good sized bluegill all day. Go figure.

One of the reason to have a house is that so you can have a dock! Besides covered space for the Skater, Formula, bass boat, and waverunners, we have a ton of space for entertaining and hanging out. A couple of TV's, a stereo, roll down curtains in an area, quartz heaters mounted from the ceiling, refrigerator, running water, bar in a lockable shed, a couple of tables, and a big sectional couch makes us spend all of the time we can at the dock! I have also put plenty of structure below so that we have fresh crappies year around. The front of the dock is in about 15 ft of water and the back about 40. There are some amazing docks at LOTO!
