Kinda what I figured. I am not a lawyer but it doesn't seem it would be legal for a company (seller) to offer a product/service for a price, spell out to the buyer the requirements to receive the offer, seller confirms that is all that is required by purchaser, purchaser spends funds to complete requirements, then the company decides to renig on offer. ???

So, going thru this renewal thing. I have a question; I'm being told that due to age and horsepower Foremost is the only insurer that would write a policy. On top of that, they will not write new policies. SOOOO - if I were to sell this boat, it's uninsurable?
I mean, I figured there would be a narrow market for my boat, and that I would have to give it away, but now it looks like I have to keep it with no lapse in coverage, even if I don't run it? Hmmm, anyone else having the problem of a 20+ year old rig with bigger power? I cannot be the only one. Looking for referrals or someone who is going thru this now.
This is crazy. The amount of liability insurance I have to carry at work makes this situation laughable. There has to be a company out there that wants this business, no? Are there in fact that many claims? Seems like some owners need to step up and cover their repairs instead of making lesser insurance claims. Insurance is meant for catastrophic events, not a piggy bank to repair your outdrives, a blown engine or fiberglass touch-up. Kind of pisses me off when people claim repairs on insurance.

It may have been mentioned already but Christy with WIA told me they like to see upgraded drives to match the power. Otherwise the drive fails and the owner claims the drive hit something for the repair, which like frick said is BS bush league.

Same here - I submitted to Wozencraft and WIA. WIA called to get some additional info and never called back. Wozencraft never called. Had to re-up with Foremost as I am in the same boat.

That's what hammers are for. Just kidding. Maybe there needs to be a liability/medical only option available like with cars. You wreck it or it gets stolen, you eat the loss. You get hurt or sued, you are covered.
