The Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run happens concurrently with the Key West Championships. The Pompano Beach, Fla., organization’s president Stu Jones reaffirmed his commitment to the event.

“The FPC is 100-percent committed to continuing with the Key West Poker Run, regardless of the Race World Offshore decision,” he said.

(Stu Jones was reached—and his statement added—15 minutes after this story went live.)

Hopefully for FPC they (KW) don’t lock down hard again like they did this spring right before the run.

Yep, that's our stance too. Glad Stu is pushing forward to run.

same, with the poker run there the fun still can be had for sure and its Key West. I can still have a great time without the races.

And I have a feeling lodging will be considerably cheaper.

I would think a lot of people use the races as an excuse to go down there, I know we’re still going down there, besides the races have been pretty lame the last 5 or so years ,so no big deal

How can they decide not to have a boat race but NFL is still planning on playing with fans in the stands ? Even nascar is still running with limited fans.
