I don’t have any pics but the install is very straight forward and the directions are pretty clear. Loads of info on the holley boards as well.

I went with the Weldon 600A pump as they can lift as well as push.

I was lucky to already have a bung in the fuel tank for the return line. I believe I ran 5/8” fuel lines everywhere.

The DUI has been a great ignition for me. The previous owner just used the OEM 16g wire to power it. When I wired it properly it picked up 500 rpm just like that. I set the base at 18° and 32° all in.

It’s on a fresh 509 that *might* be close to 600hp in dyno trim. 272 Baja Islander.

I keep going back to this. You picked up 500 RPM by changing from the Purple wire in the harness to 12g from the starter basically?

Correct. I did make a jetting change as well but not that drastic.

You have me convinced. I didn't notice the 12 gauge requirement when I put in my DUI.
I just put 12 gauge through a relay today.

Interestingly the tech guy at performance distributors, the source for DUI, thinks the units only draw 3 amps.
Also he thought a fuse was uneeded. Sorry, I fuse things.

A 12 gauge wire can carry up to 20 amps. Electrical wisdom says protect the wires. So I installed a 7.5 amp fuse between the starter link and the relay.
I couldn't buy a relay with 12 gauge leads locally so I swapped the power leads over from 14 to 12 gauge. The notes on the relay box claim it has 30 amps capacity. Hmmm.
I'll carry some fuses I suppose.
It's supposed to be nice tomorrow so I'm planning to go for a ride. I'll see if I get any more rpms.
But I am in the middle of jetting and power valve tweaking too.
I'll have to stay way out in the middle, the lake is down 2 feet from drought.

Kid Turbo made a bunch up for some of us using Holley EFI so we could use a MFD for monitoring. Look him up -- he might have some left out of his last batch...

Does the Weldon pump not want to be lower in the bilge? When I spoke to those guys they wanted the pump below the fuel tank as they said the pump was not designed to pull and would inhibit the fuel supply...

Electric pumps should be as low as possible, but this was the best option I had for now and Weldon is the one pump that advertises that it can pull as well as push. Young and Harris both confirmed this (off the record of course).

You’ll also notice that I mounted the fuel filter as high as possible so that it always has a fresh head of fuel to prime with. It’s not perfect but has worked so far.

Not trying to highjack but I am going through kind of the same thing now. Getting ready to rebuild my 575's and change over to a better fuel injection system. My two choices are the replacement plate style, like Youngs performance, or can I go with Snipers?

Dave , you could save a few bucks and just go cheap carb from last decade off ebay. Might spend a year and never get it right but carbs are more reliable so it would be worth it .:signs069:

Well, I like the sound of saving money just fine, but the never getting it right part doesn't sound fun at all. lol. I am looking at a couple of builders at the lake now and am upgrading from the flat tappets to a roller cam and want them dyno tuned and trouble free when I get them back in. I am going to be retired and too old to want to mess with them much any more. This boat has been a long project for me and am finishing the interior as well this winter, I just want to go boating this year!!!
