The 3-motor version t can tow 14k lbs yes, but for how long can it do it? And then how long will it take to charge a battery pack to continue on that journey?
It looks like its payload capacity will make it a Class 2B medium duty truck meaning it will compete against 3/4 ton trucks... not the F150 that was the intended target (of which the F150 still does it better). I’m not knocking the Cybertruck. I think it’s cool even with it looking like the Back to the Future time machine and a Halo Warthog had a baby. One of my best friends has one on order too, but he’s still planning to keep the Duramax around for quite a long time. He wants the Cybertruck as a retirement gift to himself. Drag racing it will be fun, but that’s about where the fun will stop in terms of heavy duty use. Just my opinion. |
Im about burned out on GM. I use to love my GM's but not so much anymore. Ever since the bailout and the vent fiasco last year Ford's stock went up in my book.

The future of EVs
I live in an area that is very cold in the winter and can be pretty darned hot in the summer we essentially have 4 cities in our state of size I mean over 40K population in the city our entire state has 600K people and is predominately a large agricultural region with some large oil deposits in the western part of the state. We also have a lot of coal in the midwestern part of the state. We have 2 of the largest coal mines/coal facilities in the nation and one of these entire facilities has been slated for closure next year. Each of these coal facilities has a power plant located on it and they generate the power for all of our state plus we sell lots of power to MN to provide power to the Minneapolis/St Paul metro! What are states like ND going to do when the coal fired Power Plants who have done everything that has been required of them to meet emissions guidelines and they have paid the investment to stay within regulations and the political pressure never lets up! The rules are re-written every year to eliminate this type of electrical power generation!
My point is I dont put a whole lot of faith in what General Motors says they are going to do, its nothing but meaningless "FEEL GOOD ARENT WE WONDERFUL WORDS" its going to take a lot more than words to change where we are at today! As far as WHO is going to pay for all this new green world that we will be so lucky to live in all I can say is look at our Federal Government! If you cannot see who our government sees is going to for this then YOU are just a piece of the problem!! I just love that question, WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THIS? Really? Good Luck all! |

I stopped reading as soon as I read Global Warming.. Instead of bailing out GM, We should have let them go under.

Can't wait to see the Polaris Electric ATV, but showing us headlights now, and saying coming 10 months from now is Bull$hit. I hate companies that do that crap. Just show me the thing when I can buy it.

"So if you're a fan of SRT, you can take a deep breath. Fast Mopars aren't going anywhere. The group may have seen some reorganization, but the implication from the Stellantis spokesperson seemed to be—despite the fact that they could not speculate on future product—that the brand's vehicles going forward won't all be lame-duck grocery-getters. With the reality that every automaker's future has to be electrified, well, that likely means some quick SRT-branded EVs in the future." "Whether they'll be powered by a V8 is up in the air, because company boss Tim Kuniskis warned that regulations are killing the eight-cylinder engine. Similarly, Jeep will continue designing high-performance models, like the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. What changes is that the model will be developed and designed by a group of engineers and designers from Jeep, not from SRT." Don't get me wrong--I love my V-8's and plan on keeping them as long as I can get parts and fuel--but the times are changing like it or not |
