Default trim tab pump leak

Have been fighting a trim tab pump leak,(02 29 ft. Fountain 500EFI) fittings not leaking, new tank and O ring, just enough oil in tank to have the tab operate. And the stupid thing still leaks. Does anybody have any suggestions to stop the leak. I hate any oil leak, let alone one that should be relatively easy to fix. Any help would be much appreciated. TIA

Buy another pump, sell your old one for 1/2 $. Problem solved!

Are you seeing the oil inside the boat?

Yes it leaks down from the pump and puddles at a low point.

Is it the kind with the plastic reservoir?

If so, every one of those ever made leaks. Buy billet or replace every couple years......

I did replace the reservoir with a Merc. part and new O ring. It is a small thing, but a giant PITA.

Previous boat, I put 12* blocks between the pump mounting bracket and the transom. No more leaks. The angle of the transom was causing the leaks.

I have the ''no leak" caps that were the rage some years back. Two things I am going to try next, put the original caps back on (all 3 caps were changed) but only the one pump is a problem. And second, put dye in the oil to show the leak. We shall see what that reveals.

The strange and frustrating part is I have the absolute minimum oil in the tank for the pump to operate. I am missing something here.
