Default New Cocaine Cowboys

Anyone see the new Cocaine Cowboys on Netflix. A lot Seahawk race footage. Sure tells a lot more to the story.

I recently stumbled onto the "Cocaine Cowboys" series on Netflix. I'm up to episode 4 or 5 now. I really enjoyed seeing the Team Seahawk race footage and race team interviews at the beginning of the series. I noticed T2x is the correspondent/interviewer in a number of the scenes. I wonder if it was his film footage of the racing scenes that was used in the series. I would also like to hear some of his incites/stories regarding other race teams funded by the drug trade at that time.

I started watching it last night (1 episode). I have always been intrigued by the South Florida drug trade of the 70's and 80' and this looks to dive right into it. There were allot of folks involved in it that today are clean and are great contributors to society, but back in the day they got sucked into it.. Without the drug trade, it would be interesting what the boat market would look like today.

Told my wife last night (while watching it) that after the drug money went away, so did the race boats. Made sense because they had so much cash to spend. I do not support the activities, but it was certainly a different time, wild for sure.

On a side note, APA should promote more of what they did in St Clair with the "old school" class. I would be interested to do one of those in my boat. It's really neat to see all of those old boats.

Pot and Cocaine money worked its way into Offshore, IMSA and Indy car racing. There had to be a lot quiet conversations around the pits during these events among the competitors regarding certain drivers & teams funding.

Tech. Cowboys could very easily take over but they're too busy playing on their screens.
