A good pre-flight has saved my azz more than once. Good habit to be in. Congratulations on the new to you beak.

This is excellent advise. When launching, immediately after eng start (and still on trailer) I always open the eng cover and quickly run my finger under every fuel line connection. Also do a quick look around for any tools left in bilge and verify no water is coming in. This is your last chance to verify the plug is in.

Welcome to the beak brotherhood. The 27 is a fun boat.

Thanks for the offer. Man, I have so many questions I don't know where to begin lol
We were able to get the boat out yesterday over at Carlyle Lake in IL. It was a success, but I don't know if I'll be back there anytime soon. Super windy and choppy, which didn't make for a real enjoyable trip.

Do you live in the Ozarks? I'm in St. Louis county.

Thanks,
Todd

We had a 25' checkmate back in the late 80's w/ a 502 and 8-71 that would run mid 80's with the family in it. It conditioned my forearms and grip strength for years to come
