"What’s not to like about this?" Uh, the snow?[/QUOTE]
HaHa, I know your right, I just don’t get to see that kind of weather very often and I kinda look at the FL heat/humidity like you look at the snow/cold. One thing freaky about North Idaho is this time of year the sun sets at 3:55 in the afternoon. By 4:30 it’s dark as midnight. I think that would bug me more than the temps.
Take your time looking for a place in FL, you’ll find it.

If you are thinking about moving half way (think Andy Griffith's Mayberry)...my North Carolina home will be available in the Spring with a 5 car garage (with 4-pole lift). It gets a light snow once or twice a winter and a number of lakes in the area (Madison, NC)

Tough to beat Naples if you can afford it, North Naples is the most convenient if your a trailer boater because the Estero boat ramp is only 20minutes away and provides unlimited parking spaces ,plus a 10 minute run out to the GULF or a 30 minute Idle up to the backside of Fort Myers Beach if its rough to visit the bars .

In my opinion, it is tough to find that perfect spot year around. Instead of one, big, expensive place, we have modest homes in both Lake of the Ozarks and Cape Coral. While we still live in Iowa, having the two vacation homes gives us the best of both, depending on the time of year. If I had to choose one place, there is no doubt that it would be Lake of the Ozarks.

I agree, almost anywhere you look at, you’ll find 3-4 months of too hot or too cold.

We did 8 yrs in Sebastian (east coast, in middle) and loved it.
Spent last yr in Vero Beach (next town south) and hated it.
Way too many snow birds/traffic, 90 yr olds pulling out in front of you w/no turn signal etc.
The wife didn’t like the heat of summer, I did better w/it.
Even in August, if you get shade and a breeze, you’re good.
I always joked when it got bellow 70 down there, the state locked down and no one went outside!
When we moved back to Ohio (work/family), I was a ***** the first winter!
I wouldn’t go outside if it was bellow 45!
We we’re down a month ago and it was mid 60’s - low 70’s and rained for a wk and a half!
Started in Deland and really liked what we saw.
Right by the St Johns.
I would be cautious of all the transplants moving down to Fla now due to Desantis’s refusal to close down.
Weve been through Cape Coral (lived there 15 yrs ago) recently and traffic is getting bad/worse.
