Default 2006 Donzi 38zr Cable Replacement

Hello everyone. I have to replace all my original shifter cables on both motors and was curious how many cables are on one motor? I was told 4, then 3 and now 2 so I don’t know. I need to replace the cables from the shifter itself to the outdrives (all of them). Anyone know that answer or ever have done that project yourself? I was also told the outdrives needed to come off to replace the rear cables. Is that true? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all.

There’s 4 cables that run from the throttle/shifter controller at the helm to the back- two shift cables and two throttle cables. There’s also a shorter cable on each shift plate that runs to the drives. So if you’re wanting to replace all the cables it’s 6 total. The drives do have to come off in order to change the cables from the shift plate to the drive

Thanks so much for the detailed info. I will pass that along to the boat mechanic for additional info.

If your boat mechanic doesn't know how many cables he needs for this job, then he should not be working on paddle boat.
