I thought Statement ended up with the Pillini 34' situation.

Don't know on the rest but yes the statement was a Pillini something. They bought the molds and the rights to the boat. Matt did a article on it when they purchased the rights.

Fountain cats are Smart Marine/Malestrom.
Statement 36 is a Jay Pilini design.
The 29 Velocity in water was pretty and very fast....they also told us $385k.

I've been debating weather to comment on this thread or not. Opinions are like......
I'm a huge Cigarette fan. I wish the new owner only the best in his endeavor of running the most iconic powerboat brand in the world. As somebody who crawls through pretty much every brand of boat imaginable all summer long, I can say Cigarette had the best factory fit and finish of all of them.
BUT
My stroll through the Cig booth in Miami was weird. The 5150 did not seemed to be rigged as nice as other Cig's I've crawled through. The beautiful adell clamps and thoughtful placement of oil lines, harnesses, etc that Im used to with Cig were replaced with zip ties and bundling. Can we judge a brand on one boat sitting at a boat show? Absolutely not. But it was something I had never seen from Cig. Between that and the huge screen in the background promoting the new jet ski, the whole experience was just weird.
Again, I wish them all the best. They're in business to make money and frankly I'll probably never be in the position to order a brand new Cig so my thoughts should mean nothing, but I sure hope they don't veer too far off course from the Braver era boats. In a lot of ways they really were perfect.
Just one guys opinion.

I picked this up recently, I had a 18' twin engine Yamaha that was fun back in the day . Some good trouble free boating this summer while gas is $7 thanx to senile Brandon.
Scarab made a mistake with putting those unreliable $hitdoo motors in their jet boats .

My bad, I thought I had read about a connection between the two companies, but can now see that's not the case.

Batteries…, read but cannot find, a reply on this thread about fire/rescue people who just let the elec cars burn, due to risk.

Yrs ago, I toured a facility that mfg batteries for the elec BMW and Mini Cooper cars..

Above the battery assembly area, hanging from the ceiling, was a 10’ x 20’ Lexan box.

If the batteries caught fire, they had an emergency release for that box which dropped over the assembly area to starve it if oxegon.

They told me they knew it wouldn’t stop the fire but would buy them time to evacuate the factory!

Yeah, let’s put this in a boat!

Gasoline explodes and burns; yet some crazy folks put that in boats too. Absolute madness...
