Lake Michigan is a washing machine but with bigger waves. Hardly ever do they ever come from one direction like in the ocean Hope this helps . |
Why hasn’t Lake Meade been mentioned yet?

I ran Loto and it wasn’t a big deal. When the waters calm then run what ya brung. If it’s sloppy then slow down. The guy made a mistake and paid for it. All of his crew paid for it. Sh t happens. Sometimes we get away with out a scratch and sometimes you get your azz handed to you. Not long ago someone on here made the comment about the hazards of this sport. Every time you get on the water something bad can happen. It’s the nature of this beast and we all love it! |

Dude owns a 42X cig with 1100's now. Still running around LOTO |

pretty sure the 42x has 860’s but regardless it’s a badass boat. I met the guy a couple years at the cig event, I think the accident humbled him quite a bit and he seemed like a real down to earth guy. I always felt bad for everybody in that boat, I think he was probably showing off for the camera guy in the boat and got bit by a bad wave. As for the water after the shootout, I always thought it was fun running back and maneuvering through all the traffic. It does get sloppy but typical you could still run 70 plus through it. Comparing it to Lake Michigan is laughable, there’s many days that you can’t even go out.
Everything in your post I agree with 100%. |
Glad he stayed in the game. Heck we’ve all fked up via mechanical or human error. If you haven’t then you haven’t done it long enough. Just wished there was a forward cam. Evidently the rear doesn’t do any explaining.

Im questioning if he was the same guy that bit it in haulover inlet with the 39 or 42 cig. Can’t remember but guy in the passengers pretty messed up including a broken back. Evidently he deserves a free hall pass. Chit does happen I get it. But….
Bro, like I said above. Sh*t happens. I think most people here that have been running their boats long enough have had some "OH SH*T!" moments... let their ego get ahead of their brain or used poor judgement or were just surprised by the unexpected. There's no mystery to how this happened. Dude went off a wake haulin azz and came down out of shape. I did the exact same thing this dude did in a Baja I owned about 25 years ago. Out in the Ocean, running alongside Santa Cruz Island at about 70 mph, decently calm. We went over a cruiser wake, boat caught air, started to list to the starboard, came down on the starboard rear and snapped over, pitching everyone to port. Threw me out of my bolster but not to the ground. Scared the crap out of me. Wife was less than pleased. Luckily no one hurt. I aint trying to judge this dude. LOTO water can be sloppy and unpredictable. Unless you've experienced it, you just wont understand. I've boated on countless lakes and on both coasts in the ocean for years. I've never experienced water like LOTO. It's not all crazy or anything, just can be very confused making for an unpleasant, bumpy ride with wakes bouncing back from the shore 10 -15 minutes after the HUGE cruiser first made the wake. Kind've ghost wakes. Opened my eyes when running in payupsucka's 42 #6 cig and we were slowing down. I was like, WTF, hammer down, we got this, until we went over a few and the chop and cross wakes cause launch and landings to be unpredictable. Not the first time something like this happened there. Definitely not the last. This just happened to be documented via go pro. Just my .02. |
The first time I saw that video I knew it wasn’t going to end well just by watching him throttle and the way he was standing and the wife with the arm over the side. I was on that run. It was a Friday and not a rough day at all. If that guy ran factory 2 he definitely wasn’t the throttle man!!
