Does anyone know if the 700SCI can be purchased motor only through Mercury or do you have to purchase as a package with the M-6

Inquire with a larger Mercury dealer, as they may be able to buy a package and separate it for you. My first call would be to BAM Marine.

I think you are a bit on the high side. Retail currently is around $84K with a #6 drive - can probably be bought a bit better than that. Although Advantage told me Mercury recently sent out a price increase bulletin to OEM's. Mercury's usual 2%-2.5% annual hike is jumping up to 9.5% in May. That's a whopper of an increase. One needs to order in the next month to avoid it.

I was thinking about changing my ZRC to Merc 700's with 6s and checked on all the pricing, as a package and with just the 700's. Pricing for just the 700s wasn't pretty. - they really want you to buy the package.

Back in the day not long after the 700's came out I remember a brand new takeout set of 700's being on sale in the classifieds. Some guy had bought a big cat that the factory had built with the minimum power, 700's and 6's, with the intent of pulling them and putting in big power once it was finished. $25K a piece for 700's with full warranty. It was probably the best deal I've ever seen here on OSO. They sold quick.
