Might be cheaper than buying new ! Family money is probably separate than the corporate holdings. If I had a big ol wad of endless money, I would take it on. Why not? It is a piece of marine history. I watch these guys bid $100,000+ on cars that have been restored and might have costs $3-4000 brand new, then they sit in a super nice man cave or get trailered to shows.

Absolutely agree!
If I had the that kind of disposable cash I would rather do a restoration on that, than buy new

Although it was designed and built for one reason only I could see it getting auctioned off for 100m after restoration. Lots of ridiculous money and people nowadays. $$$$$$$$$$

4 C32Bs on surface drives would push it.

I didn’t know M Benz did marine diesel.

Just went by there, it's still in the yard. It's a big 'ol beast too. You really don't get how big it is, especially out of the water, from pics. The bow is actually sticking out of the dry dock into the parking lot LOL

This restore isn't sounding too promising. Dude buying it is trying to figure out how to secure a tug and locate a dock.

That thing would be great in Florida run it down the ICW, those jet intakes could suck a whole Manatee in and spit the chum out!

Wowsers! Thank you for the wonderful memories.

I was fortunate enough to see this boat up close at Greenwich Yacht Club ( if memory serves correctly), just prior to its UK Voyage.
I was a 13 year wide eyed offshore fanatic, buddy & I took the 13' Whaler across the sound to sneak in to the club for lunch, part of our usual summer routine.
We didn't know Gentry would be there, but upon arrival, after a few moments of drooling in awe, a very kind (Crew member?) told us all about it and showed us the boat. I clearly remember the pizza sized props, this gentleman went into great detail about them.
