Not a great rough water boat...they're very wide, rides real stiff. Cool boat other wise though. We had a large set of blower motors in one on our lake. Ran awesome.

Well that boat fell through. Seller called today i day before we were set to survey the boat and sold it out from underneath me. I even had a deposit down on the boat pending survey. I guess it wasn't meant to be. All a person has in this world is his word. I just told him Karma is a *****

Both these fountains are still available since the guy with the 500 efis has been out of town for 2 weeks. One guy has till tomorrow to decide. Then i am next up to come take a look. But i haven't got much feedback about saltwater and honestly we had decided on the room of the baja but this boat with the fresh motors and drives from a reputable mechanic keeps making me consider it.

I'm a big Fountain fan...I have one. But given your original wants/needs both of those classic 35's are going to be tight for anymore than a couple of people for any extended stay on board.

In regards to the salt use boat, that isn't a deal breaker unless the survey comes back as a rusty/wet hull. To be honest I wouldn't touch the one with water that sat in the cabin unless a survey came back bone dry no rot, but clearly neglect if the owner let that happen. What else was neglected?

So, both Fountain's need a real boat survey before I would consider them. You can take the owners word for it, but why would you drop that kind of $$ without a pro second opinion.

Maybe you should keep looking for another Baja with 496's. Sounds like a better fit.

Ill give my 2 cents on salt engines, I bought a pair of 500 EFI's from a guy at LOTO he said the engines had some salt use but always flushed, I new 1 had a bad cam so I bought them to rebuild and flip them, the engines were junk inside, threw away both lower intakes, thermo housings, all 4 heads, 2 cam shafts, 32 lifters and several rocker arms. bought all parts put them together.

Ouch that stinks. makes me nervous for sure. Its tough for us we like the look of the fountain and will mostly be boating with 2,3,4 people twice a year i would like to have more people on the boat 4th of july and family trip in august. The 33 outlaw and the 342 don't show up very often.

it’s a little out of my price range. And I kinda wanted to stay away from the 575 being 2 don’t they need top ends redone 250-300hrs? Those have 163 hrs on them since top ends. And they would be pushing 600hrs they could need more then top ends next time around?

Im not sure the boat has definitely caught my eye multiple times I just worry about the power.

I would only buy a salt water boat that had closed cooling AND was taken care of.

I sold my 2002 Velocity last year. I owned it for 9 years salt water (mostly salt use). Always flushed it out with salt away after each use. Boat was in great shape. Even had the original Aluminum exhaust manifolds on it. Yep, 535 hours and the exhaust was still in excellent condition.

Also had the original aluminum trailer that was in great shape. I did add stainless disc brakes. Well worth the money.
Do your homework on ANYTHING you buy!!!

I have looked at this boat multiple times. I loved my 25 outlaw just not a boat i want to take to the ozarks. It is smaller then a 33-36 outlaw and a 342. One less motor drinking fuel and its a 525 boat looks well taken care of. Shows scanned hrs in the photos I do feel like its over priced whats your guys thoughts? Be honest and as always thanks so much for chiming in and helping me on this journey.

I bet that 525 XR ITS package was at least 25-30K upgrade over the base model..thats a clean boat........but ya gotta like yellow
