Cigarette Racing Clothing Line
Apparently the cigarette racing clothing line launches tomorrow…did anyone happen to watch the video promo…
thoughts? |
A lot of the gear looks good but if they come out at like $60 for a tee shirt then expect a lot to collect dust.

In general I think the clothes look good. they are certainly more modern and up to date…I like that they are offering pants and other warm clothes options (I.e. sweat shirts, etc).
the promo video was a bit strange…the vibe I got, which could be completely wrong; was that they are targeting younger generations/millenials. Again I could be completely wrong. for those who haven’t seen it…it’s basically a bunch of 20 year olds out using brand new cigarette boats. I don’t know. It was kind of odd. |
Where can we find this video?
|
The clothes look nice. Not sure the video suits their actual target audience.
There was an other video talking about "the next generation of offshore racing". It was a cool drone shot of the 5150 and a Center Console going under a bridge. Guess I missed the point. |

I'd like to see what they have. I don't have instagram however so can't see it. It's smart to try and target younger audiences. There's plenty of young VERY rich people out there. However, I sincerely hope there's someone around that is offering advice from the standpoint of established owners, ehhem - more mature shall I say? Good to change strategies and look at other avenues of revenue and revitalize and reinvent and change it up but don't forget about the established base. Seems the core base owners / fans of the brand are lost in the mix. Fore example, throwing all your eggs into the Instagram basket? Think I know more people in the boating community that hate social media then those that actually use it.

You're right....but 99% of young rich people aren't buying a boat steeped in offshore history. They're buying whatever the tesla yacht will be.
But I am a old Fu0k. |

I think the whole concern about the future of powerboat purchases is really a moot point. Sales of performance powerboats are at an all time record high right now. Used market is out of control. Things ebb and flow and all things are relative but I see no shortage of buyers out there. Every performance boating company I know of can barely keep up with orders and are months and months and months out. Concern about finding a younger crowd because buyers are drying up or "who are we going to sell to now?!" just seems to be unjustified.
|
Yeah I am not buying any cig gear from them. 82-100 bucks for a t shirt and 60-90 for a hat.
|
Ummmmmmmm, I hate to be negative. I TRULY DO!!
$90 for a trucker hat?! $90 for a T-shirt??? The prices are almost funny. On top of that, I don't see anything spectacular. Just basic stuff. |
Hahaha you guys beat me too it.
$92 for a basic long sleeve shirt 🤣😂 guess I’m not the only cheap one on these boards :party-smiley-004: |
The black Cigarette tee shirt goes well with bald heads and grey hair.
|
Three items each for men, women, and kids...and outrageous pricing to boot. Epic fail for what they touted IMO.
I have a Cigarette and not brand loyal, I see these guys swirling down the toilet bowl. |
The prices are nuts.
|
Hahahaha, this is hilarious! They framed it as though this "apparel line" was going to change the world!
And all they have is 1 short sleeve t shirt, 1 long sleeve t shirt, 1 hooded t shirt. Not to mention that all 3 are exactly the same design. Also, not to mention that the design is basically exactly the same as the prior "merch"... Well, at least I guess they get to shout "#merch drop!" all across the interwebs. |
The Instagram comments are great. All the non boat owners saying it “fire” lol looks like all the owners friends and look at me on Instagram type.
had high hopes but nope think it’s on the down hill slide from here. Maybe and hope to be wrong. |
If tank can’t say anything hopeful about it offshoredrillin is all they have left lol
|
Okay, i’ll day it. The females are hawt. :) That usually helps sell stuff, right ? :)
|
Those prices are nutso :picard1: https://shopcigaretteracingteam.com/

There is lots of Cig apparel on ebay. Also why so much black? There is a reason boats are white. This link to the original promo video might work. https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/cigaretteapparel

well being as you asked, my long sleeve is getting ragged, i may buy one of them just to test the quality. when i had short sleeve champion wicking shirts made for my shop, with printing and for 50 shirts wound up being about 40 a shirt... but i never thought i would be paying 17 dollars for a cheeseburger either. its all relative unless they are the cheap thin shirts like skips last batch was.
in other news…I’ve really enjoyed the Apache clothes. I have 4-6 t shirts and 4-5 sweatshirts. All great quality. The screen printing hold up well in the wash too. |
Wow!....and I thought Harley merchandise was overpriced! I will say though all the Harley stuff I have is excellent quality. I sure hope the Cig stuff is great quality for those prices.

from Ferraris site... https://store.ferrari.com/en-gb/shor...ALIFORNIA_uomo... 350 euro is 379 bucks.. like i said its all relative
|
form harley's site 70 bucks... https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...e/p/99053-22VM

I don’t think it’s relative, I think it’s marketing bullish!t. I can buy t-shirts and sweatshirts from Viking for $20.
Their smallest boat starts about the same price as a Tirana. |

Not impressed at all. Lots of hype for nothing..... 50 bucks for a T shirt is expensive.....82.00 us FU pricing I don't care how much money you have.

starting price for a 883 hugger is 3k, and a shirt is 70 bucks, buy your logic it should be free( might be as a good will jesture)... i don't disagree its marketing, but everything is marketing and it is all relative. look at the cost of Ed Hardy shirts, Von Dutch Shirts and every mullet wearing Affliction shirt the market will dictate the pricing.. skip went with lesser quality shirts at a lower price to move them.. someone that worked there even came on here and said that in the cig section. if they don't sell at full price, wait for the clearance sale... people get too emotional about this stuff... Simple accounting terms FIFO, first in first out.
|
90 bucks for a hat... clearly going after the FU money crowd.
|
I think less than $12 each if I recall correctly...custom from Vista Print

Probably won't have to worry about seeing "SOLD OUT" like years past. Spend big money and have to charge big money.
