I gotta say, Catalina is a remarkable destination. Water is crystal clear, scenery is amazing. You don’t feel like you’re even in the US. It’s something everyone should experience at least once. Totally different from anything in Florida or lake boating. It’s more reminiscent of the French and Italian riviera. I always just marvel at the fact it’s even there! Considering there’s a string of other islands in the Channel Islands group and Catalina is the only one that has been allowed to have a town by the govnt. The rest are state parks, so no building for the most part except San Nicholas which is a small naval base. You can thank wrigley (gum/ field / etc.) for Catalina’s current condition, as they owned (still do actually)
it privately and developed it in the early 1900’s (on a side note, one of the wrigley heirs owned a cigarette tiger at one point).
anyway, enough of history…it’s a great spot.

Hoping to find a deal on a boat before this but not likely to happen. Haven't been out to Catalina in quite a few years now (friggin' time flies by.
) Last time out was with Tom and Shannon in "Hot For Teacher" though so that was a pretty good last run. Anybody got an open seat?
