The guys lucky he didn’t kill everyone onboard his boat!

Damn near, a head on collision!

The party boat likely kept moving from its own momentum.
A large, heavy boat would coast a while though does appear to be under power.

I’d guess that captain would have been in shock and maybe not even know what happened w/the pleasure boats rote of travel.

That said, what an idiot!
The paddle boat was lit up like a Christmas tree!

The dumb ass in the center console wouldn’t be able to see **** due to all his disco lights!
WTF people?

Just cuz you can afford it, don’t make you smart.

That looked like the paddle boat fled the scene, the guy just coasted to a stop, paddle boat was under power never stopped. They charged the wrong guy with leaving the scene.
With all those lights in the backround that paddle boat could have looked like lights on shore , depth perception at night is terrible, everything looks the same.
He must have been looking ahead and where he was going, how do you make a turn and not look ahead?

^ Kind of what I was getting at. Collision itself, and what caused it aside, CC does stop. I am not seeing it turn its lights off and run as per the story. Paddle boat continues on its way, so..if you are the CC and have stopped, and paddle boat keeps going, do you wait a minute and then say F it, if they arent stopping, let me get back to the dock and assess damage?

F-2 Speedy 07-23-2022 10:53 AM

Id want to get to the dock also, offload the passengers in case its taking on water,

Interceptor 07-23-2022 02:46 PM

The paddlewheel charter had 60plus passengers on board, get to the dock asap and assess injuries/damage.

ICDEDPPL 07-23-2022 09:30 PM

How did they charge him with not rendering help if the paddle boat kept going and he had his own passengers and possible sinking to worry about?

carnutsx2 07-24-2022 03:27 AM

If you think that you're sinking you get to land, any land, asap. Running into someone and having them stay the course doesn't absolve you of doing what's right and lawful. When a stand up person makes a mistake they own it not run away and hide.

rak rua 07-24-2022 03:56 AM

Why didn’t he report in after safely making it to land?
Did he assume there was minimal damage to the ferry and he’d get away with it or was he more concerned about other things……..:ernaehrung004:
