The video showed up on the Qualified Captain, on Instagram. The comments are interesting to say the least.

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...3a52092149.jpg So if the Chief of Police and Parks and Recreation Director were on board then the case is open and shut............I was instructed by those guys to keep going and secure my boat, but then once I got to land I called my attorney and he recommended that I report it a day or two later. He could walk on the case BUT those two public servants might get get fired or early retired in the process. |
Not hardly open and shut at all. More speculation, there are too many unknowns.
If you want to be inquisitive pull the police report narrative, and then list the charges with the penalties for each allegation/charge. Then we can talk more intelligently about the case, but social media conjecture is not reliable (it may or may not be accurate) |

Funny you mention I am a lawyer; I am a DUI - criminal lawyer (not licensed in Wisconsin). To satisfy my curiosity I have been trying to pull the case from Wisconsin Circuit Court Access website and his case is not in the system, here is the court link if and when his case is accessible you can search the case at this link Case search (wicourts.gov) the link is public accessible; however, I cannot verify if the police report will be accessible for public view when the case is in the clerk of court website (I have never used this site until today)
I then called then called the Clerk of the Courts moments ago at (920) 236-4848 to see why I cannot access the case and was told by a staff member, for the Courts in Oshkosh, that charges are not yet filed by the Prosecutor (he has been charged by the police and the charges maybe amended by the Prosecutor is the inference that was given), and the same person did tell me he is aware of the case so this is truly big news (assumedly). I tried to get you some definitive information, that is/would be public record accessible, but it is not available. This has been an interesting thread to read, I will not make assumptions, so I will sit back and continue to read this thread, I offer no legal advice nor opinion on the case. |
out of curiosity, assuming the boat is in police impound, who is responsible/liable for it at this time? how long is it impounded for? and if it goes into winter months who winterizes it?

Many outboards do not require winterization. Do these ?
