Default Xpel or PPF 3M film

Does anyone have any experience with either one of these products on a boat? I have had it on cars it was great which is what made me wonder if it has been used in the marine industry. I have a new boat coming with a custom paint job and looking to protect it the best I can. I figured this could be a worth while investment if it is available. I had it on the front of my Porsche and the rest of the car ceramic coated and I have to tell you I should have done the whole car in film. Anyways just wondering if anyone had info.

Thanks,
Frank

I have Xpel on the sides of my Mastercraft to protect the wrap. It works great and has held up to fender rubbing for several years.

It works great. I have it applied to certain areas on the boat prone to damage like around the fuel fills.

My vote would be ceramic…don’t know how well film would hold up on a boat.

DEFINITELY talk to Rob aka offshoredrillin on this topic. He is the resident expert, been in the industry since it's inception.

I’m in the wrap/PPF industry.
Stay away from 3M PPF as it yellows overtime. Xpel has been a go to for the industry for years now. Hexis bodyfence is quickly becoming a go to for many shops. There are some other quality manufacturers like Llumar which is fine too. Just make sure to use a quality shop that’s knowledgeable about what they are selling and willing stand behind the product

Do you guys put this on the side of the hull down to bottom edge? If so, how does it hold up with water spray cutting through the water. Seems like it would eventually start working the edge loose.
