I am flying down Tuesday to Miami and picking up a rental motorhome near the airport and driving down to key west and have a campsite on Stock Island for the week. Then we have scooters renter for the week to get around.

Unit has 4 beds so you could have 4 guys sharing and the cost works out to about $700.00 for 6 days including the scooter rentals. A lot cheaper than hotel prices. Just not that close to the race venue thus the scooters and also need to not enjoy ourselves too much that we can't drive the scooters back to the campsite.

The only issue is you need to book the campsite and motorhome at least 4 months in advance to ensure availability.

Motel was $500 night, but most stuff should be walkable, We will have a car rental for sightseeing,

Fort Zachary Taylor State Park is a fun place to watch the race. They have a beach area and picnic tables (if you get there early). It's the closest place to watch the boats coming back in from the ocean as they enter the harbor. There is a long jetty you can stand on as the boats race past.

Wow, thank you I saw the park on the map on wondered what was up with that area.

We had an absolutely incredible experience at Key West, enjoyed the races from the seawall and was very impressed with the Poker Run boats I was able to view at the marina.
