I know Mercury sold Lake X at one time and now have recently re-leased it.
How does a competing propulsion manufacturer end up testing on Lake X?
I can see boat manufacturers using Mercury power prop testing and whatnot testing at Lake X.
But not a competing propulsion manufacturer itself.
Maybe was after the sale??

The new V16's from Sixteen power just completed an entire season in Class 1 offshore racing on 1 set of engine with only 2 oil changes. That is very impressive reliability for 1,100 HP!

Very cool!
Smart on the bore spacing allowing standard Ls series head usage.

I had high hopes for those motors when they came out. I liked the idea of big power with a naturally aspirated setup. It was a shame it never went anywhere, kinda' like the V-sixteen engines we're seeing now. With Mercury's 860 being somewhat of a flop, it seems like there's still a place in the market for a 900-1,000hp naturally aspirated engine. I for one would love a set of big inch, 1,000hp NA motors in my 36!
it’s not that hard to make 1.5hp per cubic inch these days

I suppose it’s not that *hard* but it certainly isn’t cheap compared to more normal big Chevy stuff.

you think that stuff is on a production car with a warranty?
