Not so much that. Small area of glass with a lot of reinforcement around it. That thing was race ready. They tended to distort a little bit as well...like a pair of cheap sunglasses.

Easier to tow, cheaper props, better visibility (stinks in the PR), etc. The PR was eventually repowered with 700SCIs.
Here it is with the big engines and me on the wheel. It really was a great boat...Reggie knocked that hull out of the park.

I’m not sure what weight my 39 gtx was , but I had full 6’s. Full 1150 hp blower motors all dressed up. Full cabin. And I towed it all over with a lifted 2500 with legit not a care in the world with it behind me. What an amazing boat that was. Pound for pound I’d take a this era OL, over any fountain, ever. Without even a question. But I know that’s not the topic. Just my 2 cents. This boat was a ROCKET

Let's guess, begging for one more lap around the lake? Begging to let you open it up over 100 mph with her in it? Begging to keep this bad arse boat instead of selling it and buying that 37 Sea Ray that she can bring more of her friends on?

I loved the look of those 39's. Randy had that Red one in his showroom at LCM back in the day. It sat for quite a while without selling because it came with Ilmors and XR's. But what a beautiful boat. Then Mike Fiore brought his 39 (with 850's I think) to the poker run one year. Just an awesome boat.

42 PR is on my short list of boats I love. Wicked...not sure I could do without a cabin but its one of my Fav to look at. Regardless I think 9k lift is pushing it. Call the MFG and see what safety margin they use...probably 25%. In a PR you are carrying close to 2,000lb in fuel plus gear. Even on my little boat no matter who I talk to they say 15k lift for my 9,500lb boat and not a 12k.

Off topic....I've seen your screen name here on posts for years and never put 2+2 together. Here is your boat in my shop probably right around the time you got it.

Yeah that’s me. A buddy of mine asked if I could run over there to see if it was inside. I sent him a couple pics and I remember it was cold AF and he said the boat came from AZ. That guy did a number on my boat, so I had been dealing with that. Somehow….that guy is still in business. There’s always fresh blood I suppose.
